課程概述

This course is the third segment of the GIM pro-seminar and explores topics concerning academic thinking and writing. It covers three essential areas of concern:
1) What is research? How to do it?
2) What is an argument? How to make one?
3) What is a proposal? How to write one?
The primary objective is to acquire the essential skills required for comprehending academic literature and proficiently crafting a research proposal.

課程要求
1. Preparatory notes on required readings (all students, every week):
Prepare comments on the required readings and post them on NTU COOL. Consider incorporating relevant musical examples to enrich the discussion in class.

2. Oral presentation on required readings (assigned students, every week):
Each week, one or two students will be tasked with presenting on the required readings, which should include a summary, contextual information, critical analysis, and relevant musical examples. Ensure that presentation materials are distributed to all participants at least one day prior to each session.

3. Research proposal (all students, once a semester):
Submit a draft of a proposal by Week 6, and finish it up on Week 8.
